Commitment, Consistency & Confidence
Despite the many highs and lows there’s always something to rejoice about. Life’s lessons are what have shaped me into the creative soul that I am today.
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it present”. ~ Bill Keane
My childhood was less than ideal. As a survivor of sexual abuse I struggled with shame, self doubt, low self esteem and suicidal thoughts. It was faith and writing in my journal that saw me through those trying times. It was also when I discovered the value in imagination. If you ask my mom she’ll say that she knew i’d become a writer by the time I was in kindergarten. One could argue that my first book was birthed from a journal.
By age 14 I had given birth to my first child. This is why my heart is full of compassion for mothers. Whether they become mother’s as young girls or adult women. Witnessing the birth of my first grand-daughter born to my eldest child opened my eyes to a whole new world. It was in coaching my baby as she birthed her first child; I decided to become a “Doula”. I couldn’t help thinking about how different my first birth experience would have been had I had the support of a birth worker.
Motherhood and trauma can cause an unhealthy addiction to food and cause a person to loose focus on themselves, resulting in a lack of self care. This is something that I am all too familiar with. At my heaviest, I weighed in at 320 pounds. You may be wondering how and when? It’s true though. In 2010, I decided to make a change for the better. I decided that I wanted to live a full and productive life. And so, my weight loss journey began. In celebration of my success I became an accountability partner to many. And today, I am a Certified Fitness Specialist.
My life’s lessons are the reason I live by the 3C’s… “Commitment, Consistency, and Confidence”!
Make a commitment to yourself that you will strive to be great, consistently drive to do and be better and have confidence in yourself and your abilities along the way.
No matter how hard it may be. If you want others to believe in you, you “must” believe in yourself.
Peace and Blessings!
Love, Tammie B.

A doula is a person who provides emotional and physical support to you during your pregnancy and childbirth. Doula"s are not medical professionals. They don’t deliver babies or provide medical care. A certified doula has taken a training program and passed an exam in how to help pregnant women and their families during this exciting but challenging experience.
